Interior Design, Accessories, Furniture

 

Sarah Upshur - Highland Designs Unique locally made wood tables, needlepoint and monogramed pillows, hand painted vintage furniture, hand crafted lamps and shades, area rugs, and Old Hickory lodge furniture.

 

Pottery: 

Diane Whitesel -

Diane's hallmark are her beautiful glazes!   Diane's pottery creations include gorgeous platters, large bowls (known as stick bowls), Ramen bowls, mugs, and many other items.  Diane lives near Richmond and enjoys the outdoors, where she gets inspiration for her pottery.

                Diane will be at Stoney Run Artisans for First Friday on

                                 Friday, August 2, from 3-7pm.

 

Karen Bobsin - 

Karen enjoys making platters and objects using leaves and other designs from nature.  She presses leaves into her raw pottery, then fires the piece to make the leaf impression permanent.  Bees and mushrooms are also frequent design features in Karen's pottery.  Most of her works are medium to small size objects such as platters, covered butter dishes, olive dishes, and soap dishes.  Karen is a resident of the Shenandoah Valley.

 

Blacksmithery:

Steve Stokes-Stokes of England -   Hand Wrought Iron, Copper and Bronze. Architechural Ironwork Consultant.  We have many styles of iron hooks and racks, saddle cleaning stand, saddle rack, plant stakes, fire screens, and fire pits. 

 

Cards:

Karen Brown Arnold - Nature Photography - two sizes of notecards/envelopes with high quality original photographs mounted on card stock.  Themes include scenes of the Shenandoah Valley, the Massanutten Peak, flowers, butterflies, and places of local interest.

 

Chris Anderson - Native Butterfly, Tree, and Bird cards.

Chris makes cards showing native butterflies - each shows the plants which the caterpillar eats, as well as the plants from which the emerging butterfly gets their nectar.  Shenandoah River Watershed artwork as well.

 

Artwork:

 

Armand Cabrerra - Armand Cabrerra paints landscapes of the Virginia countryside and seaside with exceptional ability to capture light and shadows.  His works range from 8x10 to 30x40 inches.    

 

Kelly Wilkenson Coffin - A Central Virginia artist, Kelly paints a variety of genre in oils.  Her landscape paintings are found in many fine homes.

 

Tomas Ehrenberger - Tomas paints in oils, with a European style, using broad brush strokes and a medium to dark palette.  His work is reminecent of impressionist paintings.  Tomas paints mainly out of doors, in a Plein Air manner.

 

Elaine Hurst - Elaine captures water in a special way.  Her river landscapes are captivating.   She also paints still life subject matter, and dogs.

 

Janet Ikenberry - A Harrisonburg artist, Elaine uses dried flora in many of her paintings.  Texture is one of her trademarks.  She currently paints river and rural country scenes, as well as still lifes.   Elaine uses acrylic paints.

 

Charles Raisner - Hailing from Bridgewater, Charles paints in watercolors, and favors rural landscapes.  He has painted many beautiful scenes of the Massanutten Peak, especially for our gallery.

 

Diana Davis - Born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, Diana paints in watercolors.   She gets much inspiration from sitting by the seashore and simply  watching.  Diana paints birds, flowers, bees, and animals in an 8x10 format.  She also paints 11x14 watercolors of seaside landscapes.  All are framed in identical  gold metal frames, making her pieces suitable to hang together for a gallery effect.  Diana is a frequent watercolor instructor at the Norfolk Botanical Garden.

 

Marsh Ryon - Marsh is a resident of the Eastern Shore of Virginia.  He paints primarily wildlife and flowers.  His wildlife subject matter includes eagles, ducks, pheasants, birds, foxes, and fish.   His floral paintings are lively with color!  Almost all paintings are in watercolor, with a few in acrylic.

 

Nick Terry  - Nick uses an "economy of paint" to paint fish, fishing images, flyfishing, horseback riding, and anything with a boat!  He also paints landscapes, birds, and country scenes.  Nick will paint commissions upon request through this gallery.  With a young family, Nick paints for relaxation in "his free time".....

 

Macrame - 

 

 

Hand Woven Baskets:  

 

Lynn Liskey Siler - Round Hill Basketry. Custom made basketry, chair caning and split caning. Currently we have a variey of hand woven "market baskets", perfect for a stylish and practical visit to the Farmer's Market, as well as egg gathering baskets, and other styles.

Call ahead to arrange for pricing of caning. 

 

Ned Sparks - Ned makes a variety of square and rectangular baskets in a split cane style, available in both large and small sizes.  Ned loves to weave colors into the sides of his baskets.

 

 

Wood Crafters:  

 

Phil Evans - From the Shenandoah Valley, Phil uses wood from locally cut trees to make handsome live edge wood bowls.  He makes primarily very large bowls suitable for display on a console or dining table.  His bowls are also very useful, and make a nice "statement" salad bowl for a gathering!

 

Jim Dendinger -  A retired JMU professor, Jim makes backgammon and chess boards, wood boxes and cutting boards.  Examples of his wood boxes are jewelry boxes, boxes with drawers, and now, funerary boxes for people and pets.  

 

Bernard Kramer - Absolutely stunning wood jewelry boxes with removeable sectioned trays.  These are heirloom boxes, to be sure!

 

Calvin Coolidge - Cutting boards of all shapes and sizes, made with face grain or end grain construction.   Also Calvin makes large and beautiful charcueterie boards.

 

Bill Buchanan - Wood Turner.  Unique and useful items from wood, with an emphasis on finishing, which highlights the natural beauty of the wood.  All finishes are food safe.

 

Jewelry:

 

Jayme Driver - Sterling silver jewelry.  Several variations of heart and cross necklaces.  The cross necklaces were commissioned by Stoney Run Artisans.  Jewelry includes a wonderful assortment of earrings and necklaces.  

 

Thom Noble - Silversmith who makes beautiful dangle earrings in silver and copper.   Thom also makes handsome copper bracelets for healthful living.

 

Helene Drieiling - Architect who enjoys creating jewelry.  Dangling earrings are a specialty, as well as long and short stone necklaces.

 

Angela McGuill Sterling silver jewelry, some with copper and brass accents. Jewelry includes a wonderful assortment of earrings, necklaces, and cuff bracelets.
